- We want a “doer” not a “manager”, a lot will ride on their hands on experience/s and the evidence of this. Probably most important, can they “evaluate spend”.
- We want a marketing person that can describe in detail recent real-life projects they have worked on, either successful or not.
- I believe, we need someone who has experience in demand/lead generation and product marketing.
- The above can be broken down further to include experience of SEO, SEM, Social (paid & organic), media buying, content, community, events, affiliate…. that list can go on.
- We need someone who knows the “best acquisition channels” within our industry.
- They need knowledge of the regulatory/financial promotion landscape across jurisdictions that we operate.
- They need to understand the different target markets.
- Like sales, the marketing person/team will ultimately be judged on results.
- Developing global marketing strategies
- Designing marketing plans to include key programs to be pursued, resources, budgets and KPIs
- Creating and implementing marketing communications plans
- Building brand awareness and increasing visibility for the brand
- Aggressive acquisition marketing to drive growth
- Managing digital marketing campaigns in SEM, Media, SEO, Affiliate and partnerships
- Optimizing and expanding acquisition channels based on ROI and scaling potential
- Implementing user retention strategies such as loyalty programs
- Developing CRM strategies, covering all user touch points, with the aim of increased lifetime duration and customer value
- Management of all outbound communications to consumers by developing a strong brand proposition
